West Chester (15-1) stretched its win streak to seven straight with the pair of wins over the College of Saint Rose (6-8) by the measure of 7-4 in game one and 7-2 in the nightcap.

The Golden Rams jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the opener thanks to a four-run third in which WCU sent 10 batters to the plate. The Golden Knights prolonged the inning, allowing three walks, a hit batsman and committing one error.

Reid Pulford drew a bases loaded walk, and Jack Provine hit a two-run single in the frame.

Left-hander John Barr (2-0) picked up the win on the mound, throwing five innings of seven-hit ball and allowing three runs. He walked one and struck out three. Kyle Weary tossed the final two innings, allowing one run on one hit.

In the nightcap, Wendle’s two-run shot to right field, his seventh of the season, in the bottom of the first inning put West Chester on top early. Mike Raimo hit a two-run double in the second to double the hosts lead and give starter Alec Schwartz a nice cushion with which to work. Raimo picked up another RBI in the fourth, after Dylan Zigman scored a run on a bunt single that pushed the Rams’ lead to six.

Wendle then opened the fifth inning with a triple the other way to left-center and scored on a ground out by Chris Pula.

Raimo finished 2-for-4 with three RBI in the second game. Zigman was 2-for-2 with a pair of runs scored and the one RBI.

Schwartz (1-0) worked six innings for his first win as a Golden Ram. He scattered five hits, allowing a pair of runs while striking out two and walking nobody. Nick Hinkson came on in the seventh to get the Golden Rams out of a jam and end the game.

West Chester hosts Wilmington (Del.) Wednesday afternoon for one game at 3 p.m. at Serpico Stadium.
