Fifth-Ranked Golden Rams Top Phila U., 12-0

The West Chester University baseball team wins its 18th game in a row.

West Chester scored 12 runs on 12 hits while four different pitchers combined on a two-hitter as No. 5 West Chester shut out host Philadelphia University, 12-0, in a non-league baseball game Tuesday afternoon.
 
West Chester (23-1) ran its winning streak to a school-record 18 games by jumping on top of the Rams early with a pair of runs in each of the first two innings and then throwing up a four-spot in the third for a 9-0 advantage.
 
Josh Heyne hit his fourth home run of the season, a three-run shot, to highlight the big third inning. Jordan Wlodarczyk went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBI to extend his hit streak to 17 games. Nine different Golden Rams registered a hit in the contest.
 
Matt McAllister (3-0) started and pitched the first six innings to pick up the win. He allowed both hits, walked one and struck out four. Brent Roehrich, John Barr and Kyle Weary each tossed one hitless inning in relief to finish out the game.
 
West Chester hosts Shippensburg in a PSAC East doubleheader on Friday. Game one is set for 1 p.m.
