Truitt Unemployment Tax Resolution Passes House

The Pa. House passes a resolution asking the U.S. government to change unemployment tax policy.

The following is a press release from Rep. Dan Truitt's office.

The House overwhelmingly passed a resolution sponsored by Rep. Dan Truitt (R-West Chester) to ask the federal government to change the way it taxes employees for unemployment compensation.

“The way the rules are currently written, small businesses officers are considered employees for paying the unemployment tax, yet they are denied unemployment benefits when they lose their jobs,” Truitt said.  “This is wrong, as the payment of unemployment taxes is especially burdensome on small businesses.”
