Dan Truitt Hosting Town Hall on Dec. 15

State Representative Dan Truitt will take part in town hall meeting on Dec. 15, at 7 p.m. at the East Bradford Township building that will focus on current Marcellus Shale legislation being debated on the house floor.

Rep. Truitt is currently cosponsoring to bills in the house.  The first bill doubles the setback distance from water wells for the gas extraction sites and heavily increases water testing requirements, and the second bill will require all natural gas drilling companies to report what chemicals they pump into the ground to the Department of Environmental Protection for public viewing.

"This will ensure that the water is being tested for all the chemicals used in the drilling process," Truitt said in a statement issued Nov. 15.  "We need to increase the number of environmental protections to ensure that we limit the amount of damage that is caused by the drilling."
