According to a release from the Chester County District Attorney, police have arrested two 18-year-old area residents in connection to a shoot at Chestnut and New Streets in the borough.
West Chester Police responded to a call of shots fired near New Street and found a blood trail and shell casings in the area. According to police, two witnesses reported hearing shots then seeing a male, later identified as one of the alleged shooters, holding a gun near the intersection.
According to reports, police apprehended the two men near one of their houses, and found the silver gun discarded in the back yard.
The victim was transported to Paoli Hospital will bullet wounds in his torso and ear, according to reports.
“These two individuals acted with, and in, blatant disregard for the safety of our citizenry,” West Chester Chief Scott Bohn said in a release. “There is significant vehicular and pedestrian traffic in West Chester. The area of this shooting is densely populated. We were extremely fortunate that this act did not result in the loss of a human life. “
