Police: Man Assaulted with Baseball Bat

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.

Indecent Assault: On August 11, received a complaint of an alleged indecent assault in the area of Adams and Miner Streets.  Through an investigation the actor was identified as 21-year-old borough resident Guy Denis.  Denis was taken into custody and is charged with indecent assault and corruption of minors.

DUI: On August 10, at approximately 2:19 a.m., West Chester police discovered an occupied vehicle in the 600 block of South Matlack Street that was recently involved in a vehicle crash.  Police spoke with the operator of the vehicle, and according to the police he appeared to be under the influence of alcohol.  Police than administered a field sobriety test to 23-year-old Brian Wilrigs of Reading.  Wilrigs alleged failed the field sobriety test and was arrested for driving under the influence.

Aggravated Assault: On August 9, at 2:30 a.m., police responded to the area of Birmingham Road and Marlin Drive for a report of a disturbance in the street.  Officers determined the disturbance originated at a party hosted on the 1000 block of Bala Farm Drive.  On location, officers determined that one of the guests had been assaulted with a metal baseball bat by an unwanted guest.  Police took 21-year-old West Chester resident Joshua Gentry into custody for alleged aggravated assault, simple assault, and recklessly endangering another person.
