Police Blotter: Man Fights Police at the Police Station

DUI: arrested 25-year-old Flavio Bravo-Vargas on Dec. 5, at 11:12 p.m. after a witness allegedly observed Bravo-Vargas driving down the center of the road on East Gay Street in the area of Adams Street.  Police stopped Bravo-Vargas in the 300 block of Patton Alley.  Police charged Bravo-Vargas with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving without a driver’s license.  It was later discovered that the reason Bravo-Vargas did not have a driver’s license was because he was not a citizen of the United States.

Assault: On Dec. 4, at 12:05 a.m. police arrested 26-year-old Chester resident David Henry for an alleged aggravated assault.  According to police, Henry allegedly attempted to assault police officers at the police station after he had been arrested for public drunkenness.

Assault: On Dec. 3, at 2:30 a.m. police arrested 25-year-old Delaware resident Joseph Spence after police allegedly observed him throw a 23-year-old woman against a wall causing a head injury at 525 South Walnut Street.  He was charged with simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct.

DUI: Police arrested 22-year-old William Mellor Jr. on Dec. 4, for an alleged DUI after a traffic accident in the 900 block of Lenape Road.
