West Chester Grower's Market Preview

As always the is the place to buy fresh and buy local.  Here's a look at some of the things they have to offer tomorrow provided by the Grower's Market Blog.  The West Chester Grower's Market is every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the intersection of North Church and West Chestnut Street.

Schaeffer Flowers will have zinnias, tuberoses, dahlias, and sunflowers

North Star Orchard will have Hosui Asian pears, cider (both apple and Asian pear), plus several varieties of apples. 'Liberty' apples are in, and they're better than ever this year! Tart, crisp, and juicy, these are great for those of you who like a real snappy flavor in an apple. They're also great for making apple cake (yum!), amongst other things. We'll also have a few of those super-flavorful antique apples, 'Adam's Pearmain', left.

Ellen April will be at the market this week with a selection of their soaps and body products. 

Chile Spot will be at the market with all of our great sauces, salsa, pepper jams and fresh peppers.  We'll also have our first batches of the season of our Heirloom Tomato Fatalii Pepper Salsa available.  And if you haven't tried our Fatalii Fantasii Sauce yet, you'll want to give this eastern caribbean sauce a try - we got great reviews of it at the Chile Pepper Food Festival last weekend and it will be featured as one of the ingredients in the appetizer course for the Chester County Culinary Cookoff at the annual Resturant Festival this Sunday.  We've also got our famous Red Label Pepper Jams which are the hottest pepper jams we've made featuring the Ghost Pepper - available this week will be Peach Mango Habanero as well as Sweet Red Pepper Jalapeno both with the hottest pepper in the world (Bhut Jolokia, aka "Ghost Pepper") added for a major boost in spice!
