This Week's Round of 202 Closures

PennDot workers will continue road surface improvements on Route  202 between Route 100 and Route 3.

The $19.3 million project began in May of 2010 and is expected to be completed May, 2012.

Weeknight and weekend travel restrictions will be in effect next week (Sept. 26-Oct. 3) on Route 202 between Route 100 and Route 3 (West Chester Pike) in West Goshen Township, Chester County for paving and shoulder construction, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced today.

On Monday through Friday (Sept. 26-30), northbound Route 202 will be reduced from two lanes to one from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. and southbound Route 202 will be restricted to one lane from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. for paving.

From 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30 to 6 a.m. Monday, Oct. 3, southbound Route 202 will be reduced to one lane between Route 322 and Route 3 (West Chester Pike) for shoulder reconstruction.

From 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30 to 6 a.m. Monday, Oct. 3, the Paoli Pike on-ramp to Route 202 South and the Route 202 South off-ramp to Paoli Pike will be closed and detoured for shoulder reconstruction.  The posted detours for the ramp closures are:

  •   Paoli Pike off-ramp Route 202 South: Follow Route 202 South to the Westtown Road exit, turn left on Westtown Road, turn left onto the ramp to Route 202 North and take Route 202 North to the Paoli Pike exit.
  • Paoli Pike on-ramp to Route 202 South: Take Route 202 North to the Boot Road exit, turn left onto Boot Road and turn left onto the ramp to Route 202 South.

PennDOT advises motorists to allow additional time for travel on Route 202 during construction or use an alternate route because backups will occur.

These operations are part of PennDOT’s $19.3 million project to rehabilitate and resurface 4.3 miles of Route 202 between the Route 100 Interchange and High Street. Construction began in May 2010 and is scheduled to finish in May 2012.
