Special Weather Statement Issued for Chester County

The National Weather Service in Philadelphia warns of the possibility of strong thunderstorms in the area.

The National Weather Service has issued a special weather statement for Chester County that went into effect at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday.

At 7:25 p.m., the National Weather Service detected a cluster of strong thunderstorms moving north fromw Wilmington, Delaware at the pace of 25 miles an hour.

The statement does not specify whether or not the storms will hit West Chester, but residents should be on alert.

These storms contain very heavy rain, and gusts of wind clocking in at 40 miles per hour.

Small hail is also possible.
