Not Guilty Verdict in Chesco Murder Trial

Verdict was handed down at 10 Friday Night, reports say.

A Coatesville man was found not guilty of murder in a high profile case that was decided around 10 p.m. Friday night in Chester County Common Pleas Court, according to published reports.

Damon Wylie was on trial for first and third degree murder, manslaughter and other related offenses in the stabbing death of 41 year old Marcus Miles last summer in Coatesville. Prosecutors say Miles was stabbed 14 times with a pair of scissors.  Wylie's public defender had argued that Wylie acted in self-defense.

According to a report in the Chester County Daily Local, jurors returned the verdict around 10 p.m. Friday after deliberating for nearly eight hours at the Chester County Justice Center in West Chester.
