Hospice Opens New Offices in West Chester, Needs Volunteers

Hospice is looking for local volunteers to help dying patients and their families.

National hospice provider Hospice Compassus is opening a new office in West Chester.  The company provides care to people dying from terminal illnesses.

The new office is 1234 West Chester Pike, Suite 202, in the Baxter building. It is staffed by a team of medical professionals led by a board certified hospice and palliative care physician, registered nurses, certified registered nurse practitioner, certified nurse assistants, home health aides, chaplains, bereavement coordinators, social workers, and community volunteers.

“We’ve served the surrounding counties for some time, but a physical office space gives us a stronger presence and allows us to serve more patients and families in this community,” said Karen Myers, Executive Director of the Hospice Compassus program in Philadelphia. “We recognize a need and a challenge for local residents who, like many in communities across the U.S., are underserved when it comes to hospice care. Our focus is delivering the highest quality hospice care with compassion, integrity, and excellence, giving patients, families, and their physicians an added layer of support.”

Volunteers Needed

Hospice Compassus is also looking for volunteers. The company says it is looking for compassionate local volunteers "interested in supporting patients and families in their time of need. Other volunteer opportunities include office assistance, hair stylist, and massage and music therapists."
