West Chester Officials Trumpet Placement on "Best of" List

The surprising category that landed West Chester back on a coveted 'Best of' list after a decade

It's been a 10-year wait, but West Chester has once again made one of the region's most-famous 'best of' lists.

Philadelphia Magazine has named West Chester as the best place for a 'Staycation.'  Executive Director of the West Chester Business Improvement District Malcolm Johnstone writes:

"A vacation by any other name is a Best of Philly Stacation. In Philadelphia Magazine's 40th Anniversary of Best of Philly (August 2013), they happily recommend that you "check into a cozy room at West Chester's hospitable new Hotel Warner," your place-to-stay while "lazing around the bucolic Brandywine Valley." Then enjoy an evening at one of the many eateries in downtown, all within walking distance, where you'll fine a wide assortment of cuisine "from oysters and seafood platters at Doc Magrogan's Oyster House to craft beers and bar and bistro food at Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant."

The last time West Chester received Best of Philly was 2003 for Best New Shopping District.

Now there's one more good reason to spend a weekend (or an entire week!) in downtown West Chester."
