Uptown! Gala Will Help Contribute Toward Permanent Theatre

The Uptown! Entertainment Alliance's Red Carpet Gala will be held on April 13, from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. at the National Guard Armory, located at 226 N. High Street.

The historic night promises to be filled with live music, dancing and an auction. In addition, the Armory will hold a community farewell to the National Guard troops who called the Armory home for almost a century, according to its website.

Featured acts include The First Ladies of Rock & Soul and their 14-piece band and Joel Roberts, winner of the 2013 Uptown! Songwriting Contest. Food will be provided by John Serock Catering of West Chester, with beverages from regional wineries and brewers (two free drinks with each ticket), according to the Armory.

Tickets are currently $100 and will increase to $125 after April 1. Last year's event was sold out, states the Armory's website. Funds will contribute toward the Armory's programs and for a permanent theatre in West Chester.
