PECO crews were on the scene of a reported gas leak on Paoli Pike at the intersection of Fern Hill Lane and Fern Hill Road during the Friday morning commute and midday..
Flaggers on the scene directed traffic at the intersection where the traffic light was on a "blinking red" status.
There was a heavy smell of gas for about 100 feet down wind of the intersection. PECO crews are drilling test holes along Paoli Pike.
As of 11 a.m. Friday morning it was not clear how long the repairs would take but the work was completed by the Friday afternoon rush hour. There appeared to be no threat or danger posed to homes in the vicinity of the leak.
