Whimsical Pillows Donated to Chester County Hospital

A local financial firm, Hoover Financial Advisors, donated 40 handmade pillow covers to the children's rooms of the Chester County Hospital.

Over the holidays, the children’s rooms at the were given an unusual donation: decorative pillow cases.

The entire staff of a Malvern-based company, Hoover Financial Advisors PC (HFA),  helped to create the pillow covers, in part to bring smiles to children at Chester County Hospital’s (CCH) Inpatient Pediatrics department.

Peter K. Hoover, the company’s president and founder, shown in the picture posted here,  led  a team that designed and completed 40 beautifully whimsical pillow cases for kids. Posed with Hoover in the picture are, from left to right, Beth Hoover, HFA’s marketing director,  Carol Olver, HFA’s tax specialist, and Carol Dunnigan of the Chester County Hospital volunteer office.

The colorful pillow cases were presented to the hospital in November.  According to Dunnigan, young patients who are  staying for one or more nights will receive a pillow case to use during their hospital stay. The best part:  they can take it with them when they leave. “It’s a scary time for kids and having something attractive and fun to take home is very special,” says  Dunnigan, “It’s nice for parents, too. We are thankful for Hoover Financial Advisors’ thoughtfulness. Kids who come in for dental surgery, tonsillectomies and other procedures will be sure to love the attractive cases.”

Hoover noted that “charitable giving takes on many forms, such as volunteering, sewing pillow cases, donating to food banks and other creative endeavors. “
