Meet the New West Chester Patch Editor

Hi. I'm the new Patch guy and I want to hear from you.

You may have noticed a new photo and a new name at the top of the West Chester Patch home page this week. I wanted to take a moment to say hi and introduce myself. My name is Bob Byrne and I'm the new Local Editor for the West Chester and Phoenixville Patch sites. Before this assignment I've been a Patch Editor in the region for the past two years. I am the "founding" editor (a fancy way of saying I launched) the Tredyffrin-Easttown Patch in May 2011. No matter what Patch I am privileged to edit, one thing is critical to me. That is getting to know the people in our Patch communities. Patch is all about community and West Chester has certainly welcomed Patch since we launched here. Tom Sunnergren, and West Chester Patch's Founding Editor…

SALADWORKS along with West Chester Patch are running a contest through May 4, 2012 to 'Name Your Salad.' Join in on the fun and help us name a salad after our fine community.   It's easy to participate.   Simply stop in and enjoy any entree at the West Chester or Dilworthtown SALADWORKS locations.* Pickup a 'Name Your Salad' contest entry form and submit the completed form to any SALADWORKS server. Patch Got a New Look

Check out Patch's new redesign.

No, you're not losing it! West Chester Patch looks different today. We did a quick visual nip-and-tuck to the homepage to make it even more user-friendly. And we've moved a couple pieces of furniture. For those keeping score: While the site might look a little different today, we still offer the same robust news and local coverage of everything happening in your community. That was, is, and will always be our mission. We hope you'll let us know what you think of our tweaks—drop a line or offer a comment below.

Calling All Bloggers

West Chester Patch wants you to blog.

Everyone has something to say. It might be about politics, sports, their kids.  It doesn’t matter.  Everyone has an opinion on something. Despite what you may believe, there are also people out there who want to listen.  People who want to engage and discuss.  People who want to build a community. That’s part of what we do here at Patch.  Not necessarily community building, but something I’ll call community reinforcing.  But West Chester Patch isn’t a one-way street.  We can’t do anything on the site without readers.  It’s a give and take, an organic process that evolves as the site grows. It’s time for the site to take that next evolutionary step.  It’s time for bloggers. If that that sentence reads a little heavy-handed I’m sorry, but …
