West Goshen resident Jonathan Day was arrested by police on Tuesday for multiple accounts of alleged sexual assault of a child.
According to CBS News, West Goshen Police arrested resident Jonathan Day on Tuesday for multiple counts of alleged sexual assault of a child. CBS reports that Day allegedly assaulted a child Day's mother was caring for on numerous occasions at his home, the victim's home and in the mother's car. The assaults allegedly occured six years ago, but the victim recently disclosed them to authorities, CBS says. A fire in West Goshen early Friday morning left two dead.
Two are dead after a fire swept through a home in the 1200 block of Gail Road in West Goshen Township Friday morning. Officials from the West Goshen police and fire departments received a report of a dwelling fire at approximately 7:13 a.m. Upon arrival at the scene, officers saw heavy smoke coming from the roof area. Fire personnel made entry and located two people, one male and one female inside the residence. Medical personnel pronounced both people dead at the scene. The Daily Local reports that the two people have been identified as Robert O’Neill, 85, and Irene O’Neill, 68, according to the West Goshen Police Department. West Chester police manage to talk a 35-year-old man believed to be homeless off the ledge of the Justice Center parking garage.
According to the Daily Local, West Chester police successfully prevented a 35-year-old man believed to be homeless from jumping off the sixth floor ledge of the Justice Center parking garage Sunday night. According to the Daily Local: "Police responded to a 911 call placed around 7:35 from a person who identified himself only as the man’s brother. Upon arrival, police found the man straddling a guard rail threatening to jump. West Chester Police Chief Scott Bohn said an on-duty tactical negotiator from the department was called along with a negotiator from the West Goshen Police Department. A New Jersey Man is charged with stealing underwear from several apartment complexes in West and East Goshen
Delaware Online reports that Jeffrey A. Lloyd, 44, of Bridgeton, N.J., has been arrested for stealing underwear from several apartment complexes in West Goshen and East Goshen Townships. According to Delaware Online: On Friday, West Goshen police officers captured the elusive underwear thief at the Goshen Manor Apartments with 12 pairs of bras and panties in his possession. Delaware Online reports that Lloyd has been stealing underwear since November, and police told Delaware Online Police Lloyd’s arrest came after Goshen Manor management saw Lloyd on surveillance cameras in the complex acting suspicious at about 5:30 p.m. Friday and called police. The West Goshen Township Police Department today announced aggressive-driving enforcement activities as part of a statewide wave from March 19 through April 29. The enforcement will be conducted on March 22 along Route 100 (Pottstown Pike) near Route 202 in West Goshen Township, Chester County. Pennsylvania law enforcement reminds motorists to keep their distance from aggressive drivers who exhibit behaviors such as speeding, tailgating and running red lights. More than 320 municipal police departments and the Pennsylvania State Police will participate in the enforcement and aggressive drivers stopped by police will receive a ticket. The Daily Local reports that West Goshen police have arrested three Delaware residents in connection to a retail theft scam. According to the Daily Local: Markette Christie, 18, Aaron Major, 22, and Megan Pearson, 27, all of Wilmington, were arrested after they were allegedly caught in the act of several scam related thefts at the Kmart store at 985 Paoli Pike. All three suspects have been charged with criminal conspiracy, theft by deception, and related theft charges as the result of an ongoing investigation conducted by the West Goshen police department. Common Pleas Court Judge Thomas Gavin rules the jury to be unavoidably tainted.
The Daily Local reports that Common Pleas Court Senior Judge Thomas Gavin declared the homicide case against Morgan Mengel a mistrial due to the jury being unavoidably tainted. Judge Gavin ruled that the defendent could not get a fair trial after a statement by a West Goshen police officer Thursday, says the Daily Local. The Daily Local also reports that the statement was ruled inadmissible but Senior Judge Thomas Gavin said that he saw no way for the jury to completely disregard it. The Daily Local also reports that Gavin said that Mengel would be retried as soon as convenient. Mengel stands accused of conspiring to murder her husband in 2010. According to CBS, police are seeking a suspect after he exposed himself to a child last Thursday morning.
According to CBS News, police in the West Chester area are seeking a suspect after he allegedly exposed himself to a child around 6:45 a.m. on Thursday morning near the intersection of Rosedale and Ceredo Avenue in West Goshen Township. CBS also says that according to police a man in his late 20's or early 30's drove by the intersection and waved at a child waiting for the bus. The child ignored the man, and then he drove off. According to police, the man returned to the scene a moment later, stopped in the middle of the street and asked the child to get in the car. When the child did not, the man exposed himself.
