D’Ascenzo’s Gelato: The Sweet Spot on Swinging Thursday

Gelato shop features a "taste of Italy."

On April 9, local dessert lovers found their prayers had been answered. After mourning the loss of popular gelataria Sprazzo, a new kid on the block blew them out of the water: D’Anscenzo’s Gelato. This quaint family owned and operated shop is ideally located on East Gay Street in West Chester’s own “Little Italy”, just a hop and a skip from both Nonna’s and i-Pasta. Owners Glenn and Kristin D’Ascenzo got into the gelato business in 2004.  Glenn shares that they were inspired by their first trip to Italy in 1999.  “My wife and I had the gelato everywhere we went, but our favorite was the gelataria by the Pantheon,” he intimates. “We enjoyed the experience and the intense flavors and thought it was such a beautiful display.” The D’Anscezo’s…

Tip: Check Out The Pub at Wegmans

The Pub at Wegmans in Malvern serves a mix of small dishes and entrees in a casual, upscale setting.

The Pub at Wegmans Malvern store was nearly full on the weekday evening we stopped for dinner. The host led us to one of the high tables lining the bar since the regular tables were taken. Comfortable upholstered chairs with backs complemented the sturdy black faux wood tables set with a knife and fork wrapped in thick disposable white napkins. A corner banquette gave an air of privacy to the group seated there. We had a bit of a wait for a server to appear, which allowed us time to study the list of beers on draft and bottle and wines by the glass or bottle. We noticed a self-serve wine station in the adjoining market that allows patrons to purchase a Wine Card, then select a freshly poured glass from the bottles displayed. The food menu …

West Chester's Two for $20 Tuesdays

Many restaurants in town offer cheap ways to get full every Tuesday.

Are you looking for a fun night out but you don't want to spend tons of money? Perhaps you and your significant other want to enjoy a nice dinner without breaking the bank. West Chester has got the perfect solution with Two for $20 Tuesdays. Only in the "Dub-C" will you find numerous restaurants that participate in this event. Every Tuesday, of every week, you will be able to choose from a list of restaurants that do Two for $20. This includes one appetizer, two entrees and one dessert, all for 20 dollars.
