Borough council sends the $40 million project to the Redevelopment Authority for review
The West Chester Borough Council voted on December 15 to send a plan to build a baseball stadium on the south end of town to the Redevelopment Authority for review. While the Redevelopment Authority will not give the borough the authority to move forward with the project, it will provide recommendations for the project's feasibility and whether or not the new stadium is worth pursuing. The plan by a group of citizens led by Howie Bedell and an out-of-state architect named Alan Adler calls for the stadium to be built on a 30 acre piece of property currently owned by pharmaceutical giant Pfizer Inc. The projected site for the stadium is bordered by Neilds Street to the south, Bolmar Street to the east and South Adams Street to the west. …
