A 25-year-old borough resident dies after striking a pole early Sunday morning.
Police say they have identified a man who died in a fatal one-car crash that occurred on Sunday, Feb. 10, just after midnight. According to police, 25-year-old West Chester resident Rafael Hernandez was traveling alone on Route 322 near the intersection with Creek Road when he lost control of his car and struck a PECO pole. Officials declared Hernandez dead on the scene due to injuries sustained from the crash. The cause of the accident is still under investigation, and anyone with information is asked to contact Officer Harry O’Neil or Officer Gerry DiNunzio of the West Chester Police Department.

PennDot workers will continue road surface improvements on Route 202 between the Route 100 and the West Chester Pike interchanges beginning Friday evening. The $19.3 million project began in May of 2010 and is expected to be completed May, 2012. Below is the construction schedule provided by PennDot: Route 202 will be reduced to one lane in each direction between the Route 3 (West Chester Pike) and Route 100 interchanges in West Goshen Township, Chester County from 7 p.m. Friday (June 24) to 7 p.m. Saturday (June 25) for concrete pavement replacement, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced today.
