Nighttime travel on Route 202 will be restricted to a single lane in each direction between Matlack Street and Route 100 in West Goshen Township, Chester County on Sunday through Thursday (April 15-19) from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for final paving operations, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced today. Crews will work at night over the next month to place the final layer of asphalt on this stretch of Route 202 as part of PennDOT’s $19.3 million project to rehabilitate and improve this 4.3-mile section of the highway. Construction is scheduled to finish in late May 2012. Nighttime lane closures are scheduled three nights next week (Nov. 20-22) on two sections of Route 202 in Chester County for road construction, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced today. Southbound Route 202 will be reduced from two lanes to one between the Chesterbrook and Route 401 interchanges in Tredyffrin and East Whiteland townships on Sunday through Tuesday (Nov. 20-22) from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. for barrier placement and line striping. This work is part of PennDOT’s $105.4 million project to add a third travel lane in each direction on Route 202 from just south of the Route 252 Interchange in Tredyffrin Township to just north of the Route 401 Interchange in East Whiteland Township. PennDot workers will continue road surface improvements on Route 202 between Route 100 and High Street. The $19.3 million project began in May of 2010 and is expected to be completed May, 2012. Below is the construction schedule provided by PennDot: Northbound and southbound Route 202 will be restricted to one lane between Route 100 and High Street in West Goshen and Westtown townships, Chester County tonight through Friday (Sept. 12-16) for shoulder reconstruction, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced today. Northbound Route 202 will be down to a single lane each night from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next morning. The southbound lane closure will be in effect from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Be careful driving on 202 West chester area. I lost tires on my highlander twice in past 6 weeks. Almost $1200 lost due to the constrcution. Huge hit for a person like me who is trying to balence the budget on monthly travels daily 3 miles on 202 for work. I've been hearing the 202 contruction past 6 years, how long this is going to stay like this... really worries me lately..   more ›
