Broken Tail Light Ends in Westtown Drug Bust

What police say they found inside the car.

  A broken tail light led police to a large amount of marijuana and a suspected drug dealer on West Chester Pike in Westtown Thursday morning. Westtown East Goshen police say a Chevy Tahoe being driven by a 36-year-old Coatsville man was stopped by an officer who "detected an odor of marihuana coming from the interior compartment of the Chevy Tahoe.  The driver of the Chevy Tahoe.. admitted to having an amount of marihuana on his person and Ortiz was placed under arrest and his vehicle secured." When police searched the car they say they "seized approximately one pound of marijuana, packaging material, a digital scale and records related to the trafficking of (an) illegal controlled substance." Man Charged in East Nields St. Hit-and-Run

According to West Chester PD, the crash occurred on Friday.

The following incidents were reported by the West Chester Borough Police Department. Arrest, when mentioned, does not suggest conviction. Driver Charged in Hit-and-Run  On Friday, police received word of a hit-and-run crash that occurred on the 100 block of East Nields Street. A West Chester Police officer saw the striking vehicle, a black Ford Ranger with front-end damage, pulling away from the area, police say. The officer stopped the vehicle, which was being driven by a 21-year-old Garnett Valley man. Police say the man took and failed a series of field sobriety tests, and was charged with DUI. The following information was provided by the West Goshen and West Chester police departments. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty. Narcotics possession On Dec. 9 at 2:48 a.m., West Chester Police attempted to stop a man who was allegedly urinating in public on the 200 block of East Market St. Officers persued 22-year-old Carnell Dickinson on foot. Dickinson was allegedly in possesion of crack cocaine. Possession of marijuana At 1:49 a.m. on Dec. 8, a man was observed kicking a bottle in the middle of the 50 block of N. Crime Blotter: Sexual Harrassment and Stalking

See what's been happening around West Chester for the past week.

The following information was provided by the West Goshen and West Chester police departments. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty. Stalking, harrassment Edward Cloud was charged with stalking and harassment on Dec. 5. A resident of the 800 block of Goshen Rd. reported ongoing harassment via text messages and calls. After Cloud was told to stop by police and the victim in August, he continued to call and text. A preliminary hearing will be held Jan. 15. Harrassment On Dec. 5, a resident of the 1100 block of Queen Ln. reported allegedly getting several unwanted text messages from her ex boyfriend, Graeme Hansell.

Police Botter: DUIs Abound

See what's been happening around West Chester for the past week.

The following information was provided by the West Goshen and West Chester police departments. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty. DUI Police stopped a 2011 Honda Pilot on Dec. 4 for driving sans headlights at 7:55 p.m. and for failing to stop at a red light. Police reports say 44-year-old driver Nicholas Deenis was allegedy under the influence of alcohol. Deenis, of Wayne, was arrested for a DUI and related traffic violations. DUI On Nov. 30 at 5:57 p.m., an officer reported to an accident on the 500 block of W. Gay St. The driver, Jacyln Stahl of West Chester, was allegedly intoxicated. Man Arrested for DUI at 2:37 p.m.

The following is a press release from the Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police Department. DUI: On Nov. 21, at 1:41 a.m., the Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police Department responded to a single vehicle accident at the intersection of South Chester Road (SR 352) and Green Lane in Westtown Township.  Police determined that the driver of the 1998 Infiniti lost control of the vehicle while northbound on SR 352 and rolled the vehicle before coming to rest in the grass area.   The driver was transported to Paoli Hospital by the Goshen Ambulance for injuries sustained in the crash.   Police charged the driver of the vehicle, Marc Schimpf (age 22) of the West Chester with allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol or controlled substance…

Woman Hits Mailbox, Gets DUI

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.

DUI: On November 5, 2012 at 10:23 PM the Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police Department arrested Nuri Aldilaimi, age 26, Bloomfield, New Jersey for an alleged DUI after a traffic stop in the parking lot of Ss. Simon and Jude Church on West Chester Pike in Westtown Township.  The vehicle was initially stopped for an equipment violation and the officer determined that Aldilaimi was allegedly smoking marijuana in the vehicle.  In addition to the driving under the influence of alcohol or controlled substance charge, Aldilaimi was also charged with drug law violations.  A preliminary hearing is pending before Magisterial District Judge William Kraut at District Court 15-2-03. Police Blotter: Attack at Knife Point, Pot Possession

The following information has been provided by the West Chester Borough Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, they do not indicate guilt or a conviction.

Attack at knife point: On Monday, July 3 at approximately 10 p.m., a 43-year-old resident of Union Court Apartments, located on the 600 block of East Union Street, was attacked at knife point. The attacker was a male, aged between 20 and 30, who may have fled the scene in a light-colored car. The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries, but was hospitalized. Marijuana possession: On Sunday, July 8 at approximately 6:30 p.m., a 21-year-old male was arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia at the intersection of New and Ashbridge Streets.
