She's been through more than one mom should have to bear and she's won the affection not only of a grateul daughter but also the votes of West Chester Patch readers in our Patch Mother's Day contest. Katrin Golightly tells the story of a mom who has lost two of her three children and not only kept on going, but keeps on inspiring. Katrin writes of her mom: she almost lost me to epilepsy, but took the chance to give me a life of being seizure free by having major brain surgery. Not only did brain surgery keep me from seizures, but it prevented me from driving so when I wanted to go somewhere my mom was always around to drive me. Mother's Day, the day we celebrate our mothers and all they have done for us, is a week away. Patch put out the call for stories of the best moms in our area. Below are our local winners. Nudy's Cafe wins are very unscientific poll.
Alright guys, I'm sorry. I screwed this one up. I posted the poll on Monday without the actual poll, and because I am even worse at my job, the poll wasn't posted until Tuesday afternoon. So, Nudy's Cafe won this week's poll with a whopping one vote. That's it. One. I feel like I short-changed the readers and the Mother's Day Brunch community as a whole.
