Great Escape: From Whine to Wine

Ditch the sippy cups for some adult libations.

Sometimes being a parent means tossing out the grown-up conversation and replacing it with talk of fairies, zoo animals, and bodily functions. Even mealtime has been completely taken over by bite-size servings of kid-friendly foods. If your last lunch date was over a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with apple sauce and your date drank milk out of a sippy cup, it's time for a more grown-up dining experience. Every weekend Kreutz Creek Winery in downtown West Chester has live music for anyone who wants to unwind and relax with a glass of wine.  Acts range from the greatest hits of the '60s, '70s and '80s to jazz and even funk.  Kreutz encourages visitors to bring their own food while the winery supplies the wine.

Great Escape: Spas and Salons

Sometimes you just need to get away.

Being a parent is tough because it's a full time job, a 24 hours a day, seven days a week kind of job.  It's the kind of job were there is never any "me" time.  There's family time, stroy time and happy time, but definitely no "me" time. This week's "Great Escape" focuses on spas in the area that can give you some of that "me" time back.  Consider it a break, a time to sit back, relax and just let go.
