West Chester's 'Jackass' Has a Flair for the Arts

'Bam' Margera hosts an art show.

Artists are, according to the thread-bare stereotypes at least, tormented folks who use art to articulate and defuse their pain. Bam Margera, you could say, is used to a different kind of pain. The West Chester native, professional skateboarder, and oft-injured former star of MTV's "Jackass," held an art show in his West Chester home on April 3, where paintings by Margera and a handful of local artists were for sale. After the show, Margera's band performed. Patch contributor Catherine Quillman was on the scene. No word on if she made any purchases, but you can read here writeup of the unusual event here.

Mourners Gather at the Scene of the Ryan Dunn Crash

Mourners and fans of Ryan Dunn have gathered at the site of the crash over the past few days.

Mourners and fans have been gathering at the West Goshen Township crash site where Ryan Dunn died earlier this week. Dunn's car went off the road and into a tree and burst into flames, killing Dunn and his passenger, Zachary Hartwell. At the site, friends, fans and mourners have left behind teddy bears, toy cars and flowers in remembrance of Dunn. Several people have also written messages on the guardrail near the site that read, "only the good die young," and "R.I.P. Ryan Dunn." One memorial was a candle that had a guitar pick for the band CKY melted into the wax. Mourners at the site stood quietly and looked at the tree that Dunn crashed into.  Others snapped pictures with their cellphones. The Chester County Coroner's Office determined …

According to police, Ryan Dunn's car was traveling at 130 miles per hour when it left the road, killing Dunn and his passenger, Zachary Hartwell. Police investigators completed an accident reconstruction this afternoon and determined that Dunn's car travelled at a high rate of speed while crashing through a guardrail, striking a tree and bursting into flames. Police Identify Passenger in Ryan Dunn Crash

West Chester resident Zachary Hartwell was in the car with Dunn.

West Goshen police have now identified 30-year-old Zachary Hartwell of  West Chester as the passenger who died in the fiery single car crash that also killed Ryan Dunn.  Dunn was the co-star of the MTV daredevil show Jackass. The pair died when Dunn's Porsche skidded off the Route 322 bypass and slammed into a tree near route 100 in West Goshen Township just after 2:30 Monday morning.
