Hundreds of first responders from across the region pay tribute to a man who volunteered at three West Chester area fire companies.
Firefighters, fire police, EMTs, paramedics, police, family and friends wearing yellow and black ribbons offered a final salute to Robert "Robbie" Miller during funeral and burial services in West Chester and Kennett Square Saturday. Following a funeral service at the Good Will Fire Co. in West Chester, where Miller volunteered as a firefighter, the body of the 27-year-old volunteer was carried to Union Hill Cemetery on a bright yellow Downingtown Fire Co. 1969 Mack pumper truck. The funeral procession included trucks and an honor guard from the West Bradford Fire Co. where Miller served as a captain and instructor. A traditional firefighter funeral tribute brings many to tears.
Services for volunteer firefighter Robert "Robbie" Miller featured some traditional and some very personal, touching moments. Among the honors paid to the 27-year-old first responder was a bagpiper who played as the casket was carried from the fire truck to the grave at Union Hill Cemetery. At the conclusion of the graveside service, bagpiper Jerry Flynn of the Chester County Emerald Society Pipe Band played "Amazing Grace" while walking away from the site of the service which creates a musical fade effect.

Funeral services will be Saturday morning for Robert 'Robbie' Miller who served three West Chester area fire companies.
Robert Miller will be laid to rest in Kennett Square Saturday following a funeral at the Good Will Fire Co. fire station in West Chester. Miller was killed in a motorcycle accident in West Bradford on May 1. The son of a firefighter, Miller was a volunteer at three area fire companies. He served as a captain of the East Bradford Fire Co. He was a firefighter at Good Will Fire Co. and a firefighter/engineer with the West Brandywine Fire Co. Robbie Miller was a firefighter with Good Will Fire Co. and Captain in West Bradford.
Flags are at half staff in memory of volunteer firefighter Robbie Miller who was killed in a motorcyle accident Wednesday night, according to colleagues at the Good Will Fire Company in West Chester. According to an article posted on the West Bradford Fire Company website, where Williams served as Captain, he was flown by helicopter to Paoli Hospital where he died early Thursday morning, several hours arriving at the trauma center. The 19-year-old woman died in an apparent accident near the Temple University campus in Philadelphia.
Funeral services are now set for Saturday for Ali M. Fausnaught, the 19-year-old West Chester University Student who died after falling from the roof of a building in North Philadelphia. According to media reports, including a story posted on Main Line Media News, Fausnaught perished after falling on April 17 from a building near the Temple University campus. Former Rep. Bob Edgar, who represented the Pennsylvania’s 7th Congressional District for six terms, died unexpectedly Tuesday morning at his Virginia home. After Congress, the Democrat went on to to lead the National Council of Churches, and became president of Common Cause, a position he still held.
