Westtown School to Host Community-Wide Science Day on 4/12

Come Celebrate the New Science Center with a Day of Hands-On Science Activities, Games and Fun for All Ages

WHAT: 

Westtown School will hold Science Day at Westtown, a free, family-friendly event that’s open to the community on Saturday, April 12. The event will feature hands-on science experiments, demonstrations, games and more, as well as an official brief ribbon-cutting ceremony to dedicate the new Science Center.

Attendees will get a chance to explore school’s 600-acre campus and experience the various aspects of Westtown’s flourishing science program. The school graduates an impressive number of students who go on to major in STEM subjects in college (1 out of 4 vs. national average of 1 out of 10).

WHEN: 

Saturday, April 12

12 p.m. – 3 p.m.

12:00 p.m. – Forensic lab experiments, Harry Potter chemistry potions

1:00 p.m. – Ribbon-cutting and dedication of new Science Center

1:30 p.m. – Artist talk and reception for Periodic Table Sculpture

Ongoing throughout the day: science scavenger hunt, live jazz band, Westtown Robotics Team demonstrations, walk through of heart model, human skill evolution exhibit, Nerf rocket experiment, plant sale (plants grown by Westtown students), and campus tours. Lunch and snacks will be available to purchase.
