Trending: Student Makes Fantastic Half-Court Shot For $10,000 Only to Have Prize Taken Away on Ridiculous Technicality
The fine print on the contest contract means the West Chester University student doesn't get the cash prize.

West Chester, Penn. – A college crowd erupted when a student's half-court shot Saturday night seemed to seal a $10,000 contest win.
The only problem? The fine print. Because West Chester University freshman Jack Lavery, 18, made the basket on the second attempt during the halftime challenge, he was ineligible for the prize, according to an Action News report.
Lavery, who SportingNews says played basketball at Hatboro-Horsham High School, was randomly selected for the contest during West Chester University's game against Shippensburg University. He had 25 seconds to make a lay-up, a shot from the behind the free throw line, a shot behind the three-point line, and then the half-court shot. He made all the shots except the last, which he made on a second attempt before time ran out.
Students at West Chester University are now rallying to raise the money for Lavery, according to Action News.
