Women's Tennis Downs Philadelphia University, 7-2

West Chester women picked up a pair of wins in the doubles competition at first and second doubles.

West Chester University topped visiting Philadelphia University, 7-2, in a non-league women's tennis match this afternoon on South Campus.

West Chester (5-7) picked up a pair of wins in the doubles competition at first and second doubles. The Golden Rams then won the first five singles matches to put away the visiting Rams. Alex Santoro's 6-2, 6-1 decision at third singles was the deciding match.

Ali Fetter dropped the first set 6-0. However, she rebounded to win the next two, 7-5 and 10-3 in tie-breaker format to pick up the win.

"Nothing seemed to be working for her," WCU head coach Tina Tharp commented. "But, to her credit, she fought through the tough beginning and came away with the victory."

Brittany Counts was a winner at first singles, 6-4, 6-1 while Nikki Paller was a winner at fourth singles, 6-2, 6-0 and Haley Wissinger won at fifth singles, 6-4, 6-0.
