West Chester Ready For National Challenge

The Golden Rams get ready for their first game in the Division II College World Series.

The following is a press release from the West Chester University Athletic Department.

West Chester University’s baseball squad opens play at the NCAA Division II National Finals on Saturday, May 26 at 1 p.m. against California State-Chico at the USA Baseball National Training Center in Cary, N.C.
 
Tickets to the national finals are $10 for adults and $5 for students. An all-session pass good for the entire duration of the tournament can also be purchased for $30. To purchase tickets ahead of time please click HERE.

The Golden Rams (42-10) are ranked 13th in the country by most college baseball polls while Chico State is the first team listed among others receiving votes. West Chester punched its ticket to the national finals by virtue of its 6-0 victory over PSAC rival Kutztown in the Atlantic Region final on Sunday. Chico State (40-17) earned its trip to Cary, N.C. with a 7-3 win over Dixie State in the West Region final on Sunday.
 
West Chester arrived in Cary, N.C. on Wednesday evening, and first-year head coach Jad Prachniak put the team through an hour-long batting practice session on Thursday morning as the Golden Rams got acclimated to their new surroundings.
 
The Atlantic Region champs have one more hour of practice Friday morning before they hit the diamond for real on Saturday afternoon.
