West Chester Pitching Dominates in the First Round of the District One Softball Playoffs

Both Henderson and East got shutout victories in their first round wins.

For Henderson, Lauren Butts went 10 innings and struck out seven to help lead the Warriors to a 1-0 win over Council Rock North in the first round of the District One softball playoffs on Monday.

Heidi McCollister hit the game winning knock in the top of the tenth to bring home go-ahead runner Rachel Gadbow.

Henderson's next game is Wednesday against Souderton.

For East, Brianna Andraos dominated Wissahickon, pitching a complete game shutout and striking out eight.

Andraos also has three hits and an RBI.  Sarah McDade and Taylor Judge also knocked in runs with doubles in the second inning.

West Chester East squares off against four seed Neshaminy on Wednesday.
