West Chester Battles Southern New Hampshire

The Golden Rams will take on Southern New Hampshire this Memorial Day.

West Chester University is set to face Southern New Hampshire on Monday in the second game of the 2012 NCAA Division II national finals at the USA Baseball Training Complex. First pitch on Memorial Day at Coleman Field inside the complex is set for 5 p.m.

West Chester (43-10) is looking to win its second game at the national finals for the first time in three trips to the final eight. Southern New Hampshire (43-13) is making its first trip to the national finals in school history, after setting a school record for wins in a single season. The Golden Rams defeated Chico State, 4-0, on Saturday while the Penmen topped Minnesota State-Mankato, 3-2, on Saturday as well.

A win by the Golden Rams would advance them to Thursday night where they would play a cross-over game against somebody from Bracket Two. A loss by the Golden Rams would mean an elimination game against the winner of Minnesota State-Mankato vs. Chico State. That game would be played on Wednesday at 3 p.m.

West Chester is just three wins away from the school's first national championship in baseball and second national title by one of its athletic programs this season.
