West Chester (4-2, 2-1 PSAC East) erased a 14-point deficit in the fourth quarter to knot things up at 28-apiece. Rondell White scored on a 5-yard run with under seven minutes remaining, and then Erick Brundidge caught a 5-yard TD strike from QB Mike Mattei with 1:10 to go that pulled the Golden Rams even. However, East Stroudsburg took the ensuing kickoff and marched 68 yards in 1:06 to escape with a conference win over rival West Chester.

Sr., WR Sean Beahan caught five passes for 129 yards, including a 73-yard TD reception in the second quarter that put the visiting Golden Rams on top, 14-7 early in the second quarter. That is when East Stroudsburg scored three straight touchdowns, the first 21 seconds before halftime, another in the third and the last in the first three minutes of the fourth, to take a 28-14 lead with 12 minutes left in the contest.

Mattei finished 17 of 28 for 256 yards and a pair of touchdowns. However, he threw three interceptions. Rondell White rushed for 51 yards and two scores on 15 carries. He now has a season-high 714 yards rushing on the year.

So., MLB Ronell Williams registered a career-high 17 tackles in the loss. Carl Barnes and John O’Donnell each posted a dozen tackles as well.

West Chester returns home from its three-game road swing next Saturday when the Golden Rams welcome PSAC East rival LIU Post to John A. Farrell Stadium at 1 p.m. It will be Veteran’s Appreciation Day/Wounded Warrior Project Saturday as well as Walk of Champions at Farrell Stadium.
