Football Roundup: Rustin Perfect, Henderson and East Lose

Take a look at how West Chester's high school football teams are doing.

Rustin:

Rustin is looking great after four games. The Knights beat Downingtown East on Sept. 20, 26 to 6, improving their season record to 4-0.

The Knights scored 31 and 47 points in its previous two games before Downingtown East, so the 26-point total is a bit of a decline. The defense, however, has remained strong all season, only allowing more than 10 points once in four games.

East suffered a home loss against Bishop Shanahan on Friday, falling 42-21 and 2-2 on the season.

The loss is the second in a row for the Vikings, who stumbled against Rustin earlier in the month.

East will take on Downingtown East High School on Friday in Downingtown in a battle for “East” superiority.

Henderson:

Henderson suffered a close loss to Downingtown West on Sept 20, falling 17-14 and moving to 2-2 on the season.

The home loss comes on the heels of a convincing 34-14 win over George Washington High School in Philadelphia and a 31-7 trouncing at the hands of fellow West Chester school Rustin.

Henderson will take on Unionville at home on Friday.
