Downingtown East to Forfeit

Downingtown East to forfeit Monday's 5-4 victory over West Chester East.

The Daily Local reports that Downigtown East will forfeit Monday's victory over West Chester East that gave the Cougars the Ches-Mont League National Division Title.

Downingtown East's coach Jim Freeman told the Daily Local that he inadvertently used an ineligible pitcher during Monday's game.

Freeman brought in pitcher Matt Ternowchek in relief in the seventh inning on two day rest.  National baseball rules require high school pitchers to receive a full three days rest before they can play again.
