WCASD Open Wednesday

The following is a press release from the West Chester Area School District.

All schools in the West Chester Area School District will open on time Wednesday October 31. Our custodial and maintenance staff were checking on buildings Monday and Tuesday and report that our buildings held up very well. With the exception of a downed tree landing on the art room at Penn Wood Elementary School, we did not sustain any significant damage. Art classes will be relocated at Penn Wood this week while we work to repair the roof.

Almost all roads are open in our district as our municipalities have done an excellent job preparing for and responding during the storm. We may have some buses running late on Wednesday morning due to wet and slippery road conditions but for the most part we should be operating on time.

I hope that everyone was safe during this hurricane event. We look forward to seeing your children back in our schools on Wednesday morning!
