The following is a press release from the West Chester Area School Board.
So your little boy or girl has become a teenager, seemingly in the blink of an eye! If you have one now or will in the near future, the Henderson High School Parent Teacher Organization wants you to know that, on occasion, it’s easy to be confused and frustrated by teen behavior and the choices they make. It’s quite normal to question whether the way interactions with our teens unfold is a result of normal teenage antics or something more – something for which help should be sought.
A. Michael Blanche is a licensed clinical social worker with nearly 15 years of experience in providing direct clinical counseling to troubled teens and their families. He will conduct a workshop on this topic at the January meeting of the HHS PTO, and all parents are invited to attend. The meeting will take place on Thursday, January 17th at 7PM in the HHS auditorium.
Michael's workshop will help parents develop a better understanding of the differences between typical teen behavior and the symptoms that might suggest they need the help of a professional. Guidelines will also be provided to parents on ways to engage and initiate treatment when that step becomes necessary.
We hope you are able to join us as for our very informative January meeting. Even if you aren't currently experiencing such issues with your teen, it would be helpful to arm yourself with the tools and knowledge to quickly recognize the early signs of a more serious problem, and be better equipped to handle any situation that might arise.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qWTYP6rcn30 Since this seminar appears to be connected to recent violence in schools, be absolutely sure that you're aware that the public school system is founded on the principle of a coercively controlled involuntary funding system to educate children .. simply stated, the public schools are using violence to extract money from people to pay for education. I am also assuming this seminar is a proactive attempt to minimize any responsibility for your child's future violent behavior, by the teachers union ... in case you happen to be working a second job in order to pay your school taxes, and miss the seminar.
When exactly is it ok for (some) parents and all teachers to condone the use of violence to earn a living, and then preach non-violence to their children and pupils? do you see the hypocrisy of your seminar yet? Better yet ... ask yourself where do our children first learn violence? - or maybe ask your workshop seminarian.
Shouldn't you be in class abusing children this morning?
