Rustin Named One of the Top 500 High Schools in the Country by Newsweek

Newsweek names Rustin one of the top 500 schools in the country, and one of the top 18 in the state.

Newsweek has named West Chester's Rustin High School as one of the top 500 high schools in the country.

Using a metric designed by a panel of experts, Rustin ranks as the 481 best high school in the country and one of the top 18 in the state.

Newsweek ranked every high school in the country against each other based on facotrs such as teacher to student ratio, SAT scores and graduation rate.

According to Newsweek, Rustin has a graduation rate of 95 percent and 93 percent of their students go on to college.

Rustin also has a low teacher to student figure at 13 students for every techer, and their average SAT score is 1558.

Other Chester County schools to make the list include Great Valley, Downingtown East and Downingtown West

The Philadelphia suburb schools dominated the list of top schools in the state, with the likes of Lower Marion, Radnor, Central Bucks West and Haverford.
