Report: West Chester Student Heading to West Point
West Chester Rustin Senior Evan Harkins earns appointment to West Point.
According to WFMZ in Allentown, senior Evan Harkins has earned an appointment to the United States Military Academy at West Point in N.Y.
WFMZ reports that Harkins is the co-captain of the wrestling team and serves as the student council president.
To be appointed to a U.S. service academy, all potential students must first be nominated by either a member of Congress or the vice president. Selection criteria include academics, proven leadership and fitness as a military officer.
