Phillie Phanatic Coming to West Chester

Philadelphia's number one celebrity is coming to an area school to encourage reading.

What’s a good way to encourage kids to read? Give them a visit from the Phanatic, I guess.

The Phillie Phanatic, the charismatic green mascot for the Philadelphia Phillies, is coming to Chesterbrook Academy in West Chester on Friday.

Its arrival coincides with the school’s kickoff of National Reading Month, which challenges children to read a certain number of books in 30 days. Last year, Chesterbrook students read 3,000 books in a month, beating their goal by over 1,000.
