Ever wondered what your dreams might mean? Join local Jungian analyst and psychotherapist Dr. Cynthia Candelaria and learn how understanding our dreams can add to consciousness and lead to greater self-knowledge.
About your instructor: Cynthia Candelaria, Ed.D., LPC, is a Nationally Certified Counselor with a doctorate in counseling and human development from Vanderbilt University. In addition, Dr. Candelaria has completed a respecialization in clinical psychology at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She is a Jungian analyst and psychotherapist in private practice in West Chester, Pennsylvania. She trained in psychology especially because of her interest in the value of dreams as a source of guidance in our daily lives.
What we will explore: We all are familiar with the way that events from our daily life are interwoven into our dream world, but perhaps we are not quite as aware that our dream world influences our waking world.
All of us dream several times a night. It’s possible that we sleep not just because our bodies need rest, but also so that we can dream. Our dreams bring us messages from our psyche, our soul. Understanding our dreams can add to consciousness and lead to deeper self-knowledge. Dream language is a highly personal language of images and metaphors. We will explore the questions of where dreams come from, what they mean, why they matter, and how we get in touch with them.
