TCHS Brandywine Campus health-related programs open house

Downingtown, PA – The Chester County Technical College High School (TCHS) Brandywine Campus is hosting an open house event for students interested in learning more about four of the school’s health-related programs. The event will take place on Thursday, July 26, with one session beginning at 11:30 a.m. and another at 6:30 p.m. The school is located at 443 Boot Road in Downingtown.

Students and family members who attend the July 26 event will have the opportunity to explore, in depth, the school’s four health-related programs: Biomedical Science, Pre-Nursing, Health Information Management and Health Occupations. This event offers prospective students the opportunity to learn about these exciting programs as well as tour our brand new, state-of-the-art facility. During the event, interested students may also apply online for the 2012-13 academic year.

In 2008, the Chester County Technical College High School Pennock’s Bridge Campus in West Grove became Pennsylvania’s first hybrid career and technical high school/community college. The school features three distinct yet interrelated educational programs: traditional high school career and technical programs, traditional college courses through Delaware County Community College (DCCC), and dual-enrollment classes that blend high school and for-credit college courses.

This fall, TCHS Brandywine Campus in Downingtown will open its doors to students in central Chester County in order to provide the same opportunity to students in Coatesville Area, Downingtown Area, and West Chester Area School Districts, and Bishop Shanahan High School.

In addition to the four health-related programs being featured at the open house, TCHS Brandywine offers the following career and technical programs for high school students: Allied Health Science Technology; Animal Science & Technology; Automotive Collision Technology; Automotive Service Technology; Banking and Financial Services; Barbering; Carpentry; Commercial & Graphic Arts; Computer Information Systems; Cosmetology; Criminal Justice and Police Sciences; Culinary Arts; Early Childhood Care and Education; Electrical Occupations; Electronic Systems Technology; Engine Technology and Recreational Vehicles; Engineering Technology Systems (Mechatronics); HVAC/Refrigeration Technology; and Teacher Academy.

Applications are currently being accepted for TCHS Brandywine Campus. Interested students can apply online or find out more information by visiting www.tchsbrandywine.org.
