What Kind of Home Does $500k Buy in West Chester?

Half a million dollars can buy you a house anywhere in the Philadelphia area, but you're going to get different features in different areas.

Most homes on the market for $500,000 in our area have three to five bedrooms, with most having four.

In West Chester, $500,000 will buy you a house on a 113,225-square-foot lot. That same amount will only get you 1,720 square feet in the more densely populated Chestnut Hill section of Philadelphia.

Near Bala Cynwyd, a $500,000 Penn Valley home might come with a finished basement, like the one at 1214 N Woodbine Avenue. However, a $500,000 home in Phoenixville, like the one at 6006 Waterview Circle, won't featured a finished basement.

Many homes in more spaced-out areas of Greater Philadelphia, like Broomall and Springfield, will come with attached garages. Other sections of the area, like homes in Haverford or Roxborough, will come with detached parking, or no parking spaces at all.
