Volunteers Needed in West Chester Borough

The borough is seeking volunteers for several committees.

In order to make informed decisions, West Chester Borough Council relies on the information and research gathered by the borough's several commissions and boards staffed entirely by volunteers.

Currently, the borough has several openings that need to be filled.

Those openings include the Zoning Hearing Board, the West Chester Library, the Planning Commission and the Borough Leaders United for Emissions Reduction (BLUER).

The Zoning Hearing Board hears and decides on appeals by applicants from the zoning ordinance standards; the Library Board directs the operation of, you guessed it, the library, the Planning Commission advises borough council on planning and zoning matters, and BLUER works to reduce emissions in the borough.

For most of these positions the only requirement is that the applicant be a resident of the borough.

The deadline to apply is July 13, and a letter of interest as well as a resume can be sent to West Chester Borough Manager, Ernie McNeely.
