New Member Appointed to the West Chester Library Board

Lance J. Nelson was appointed by Borough Council.

Lance Nelson, a senior partner with the Chester County law firm MacElree Harvey, has been appointed to the West Chester Public Library Board by the Borough’s Council.

West Chester Public Library serves the greater West Chester community with materials, programs, and information for all ages.  The library circulates over 160,000 items annually from its collection of 55,000 books, DVDs, CDs and magazines and sees over 100,000 visits per year.  Howard Sundwall, president of the Library’s Board, said, "I look forward to working with Lance in maintaining the library's importance to the community, and in helping to grow its mission and services."

Lance, who currently serves as the President of the Chester County Bar Association, has been assisting area individuals and companies in a variety of litigation-related areas for decades. With regard to his individual clients, Lance counsels them with regard to divorce, support, custody, contract issues, business disputes, pre- and post- nuptial agreements and adoption. Lance assists his business clients in navigating a variety of issues including contract disputes, construction issues, corporate control issues and other aspects of day-to-day business disputes. He served as Managing Partner of MacElree Harvey from 2001-2011. He was named “Citizen of the Year “by the West Chester Chamber of Commerce in  2009. A graduate of Boston College (1987), Lance received his law degree Order of the Coif from Villanova University (J.D. 1990).
