Borough Council Vice President Earns Certification

West Chester Borough Council Vice President Chuck Christy completes the Pennsylvania League of Cities and Municipalities' Elected Officials Leadership Training Program.

Council Vice President Charles Christy of West Chester recently completed the requirements for the Pennsylvania League of Cities and Municipalities’ Elected Officials Leadership Training Program (EOLTP).  Christy was recognized during a ceremony held in conjunction with the League’s 112th Annual Convention in Erie.

Council Vice President Christy received his certificate of accomplishment for completing 40 hours (20 credits) of attendance at accredited training seminars and conferences geared toward the professional enrichment of elected officials in Pennsylvania.  Christy is one of only 25 elected officials in the state to have achieved this milestone.  Attaining this certificate demonstrates a local official’s desire to remain abreast of current trends and issues in local, regional, state and federal government, thus serving his or her community more efficiently and effectively.

The Pennsylvania League of Cities and Municipalities is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization established in 1900 as an advocate for Pennsylvania’s 3rd class cities. Today, PLCM represents Pennsylvania’s cities, townships, town, boroughs, and home rule communities that all share the League’s municipal policy interests.  The League is a State Certified Municipal Training Organization dedicated to providing the ongoing educational needs of elected and appointed local government officials in Pennsylvania.  In addition, the Board of Directors oversees the administration of a wide array of municipal services including legislative advocacy (on both the state and federal level), publications designed to educate and inform, inquiry and research, consulting-based programs, and group insurance trusts.
