Borough Council to Discuss Firearms

Borough Council is holding a public hearing on changing the borough code to allow firearms to be carried in the borough's parks.

West Chester Borough Council will conduct a public hearing on Wednesday about changing the borough code to allow firearms to be carried inside the borough's park.

The council would have to repeal the current statute that prohibits the carrying of firearms.

According to state law, a borough cannot prohibit the carrying of firearms on public property if the person has a license or permit to do so.
