Council Committees will meet on Monday and Tuesday.

On Monday, the public works, parks and recreation and parking committee's meet beginning at 5:30 p.m.

The following are agenda highlights for each committee:

Public Works: This committee only has two action items on its agenda.  The first would have the borough apply for a community development grant to improve the storm sewers along Pine Alley.  The second item deals with replacing bike racks.

Parks and Recreation: On the agenda is an item that says, "Discuss downtown street public events, their effect on downtown businesses and how to improve their impact for existing downtown businesses."  It already says that it will be a discussion, but I imagine it include input from not only council and the parks department but also the business community.  There will also be an update on "Super Weekend."

Parking: Nothing earth-shattering on this agenda.  There will be a discussion about a couple of handicapped parking spaces, and the University is asking the borough to manage parking at the new student recreation center.

Things tend to slow down over the summer months for borough council before picking back up again in the fall for budgets.

Check back tomorrow when I'll briefly go over the agendas for the Tuesday committee meetings.
