Couple Arrested for Nitrous Tank, Police Say

West Chester Police say the pair were caught redhanded on South Matlack Street.

West Chester Police arrested a West Virginia couple found huffing nitrous oxide in the borough last weekend, the department says.

According to court documents, at 12:45 a.m. Sunday, officers found the two in a car parked on the unit block of S. Matlack Street. Police say they were in possession of a tank marked “Nitrous Oxide” and several bags of balloons. Both parties admitted to inhaling the gas from the balloons.

The woman also told police that she had a small amount of marijuana in her backpack, accoridng to police.

Both the man and the woman were arrested, charged with drug possession, and released on a $5,000 bond.
